The Parallel-Beam And Cross-Beam Modes Of Safety Light Curtain

2023-11-10

1. Parallel shooting method

Parallel reflector mode is one of the common operating modes in safety grating. It consists of a pair of transmitters and receivers located on either side of the protected area and parallel to each other. The beam is sent from the transmitter and received by the receiver in a parallel beam mode, forming an invisible grating barrier. When a person or object enters the grating barrier, the beam will be blocked, which in turn triggers the safety system to stop the operation of the machine or equipment to protect the safety of the person and equipment.

The parallel beam method has the characteristics of high sensitivity and high detection accuracy. It is often used in large-scale or multi-direction security detection scenarios, such as logistics warehousing, machining, and so on.

2. Cross shooting method

Crossbeam is another common working mode in safety grating. It also consists of a pair of transmitters and receivers, but they are cross-placed on either side of the protected area. In the cross-beam mode, the transmitter sends a beam to the receiver, and the receiver sends a beam to the transmitter. When a person or object enters the grating barrier, the transmission path of the beam is blocked, which triggers the safety system.

The cross-beam method has the characteristics of good anti-interference and high stability. It is suitable for limited security detection areas and can detect the entry of small objects.
